Endorsed

StarkFreedom PAC endorses Daniel J. Sullivan Jr. for U.S. Senate in Alaska, a race Cook Political Report and Inside Elections both rate a Toss Up. The seat is held by Dan S. Sullivan, a Republican. Daniel J. Sullivan Jr. of Petersburg is on the ballot, and on a ranked-choice ballot you can put him first and still rank someone else next.

Alaska counts ranked choice. A ballot moves to its next choice when its first choice is eliminated; one that ranks only Daniel J. Sullivan Jr. stops counting then. In three October polls that name him (Data for Progress, InsiderAdvantage, Alaska Survey Research), 1.7 to 5 percent put him first, and Peltola (D) led Dan S. Sullivan by about 2 points on the final count. We found no poll that measures where his voters' next choices go, so we cannot say whom his votes help.

How to vote in Alaska

To vote for Daniel J. Sullivan Jr., find the line that reads "Sullivan, Daniel J. Jr." and rank him first. The incumbent's line reads "Sullivan, Dan S. (Registered Republican) Incumbent." We do not recommend a second choice. Early voting runs Oct 19 to Nov 2, Election Day is Nov 3, and Alaska's ranked-choice count is Nov 18.
